LONDON, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Former British Cycling and Team Sky chief medical officer Richard Freeman has been banned from all sport for four years, effectively Dec. 21 next year, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) said on Tuesday. "The decision of the independent tribunal of the National Anti-Doping Panel confirms that Richard Freeman broke the UK Anti-Doping Rules," said UKAD chief executive Jane Rumble. UKAD opened an investigation in 2016 after receiving information of a possible anti-doping violation by individuals linked to Team Sky at the Criterium du Dauphine race in June 2011. Freeman worked for British Cycling and Team Sky during a golden period of success between 2009 and 2017. British Cycling chair Frank Slevin noted the verdict and thanked the NADP for its work.

"In light of this news, the fight will be cancelled, and a full investigation will be conducted." LONDON, April 20 (Reuters) - British welterweight Conor Benn has been provisionally suspended by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) after two failed voluntary drugs tests last year that forced the postponement of his fight against Chris Eubank Jr, the organisation said on Thursday. Undefeated Benn, who has reiterated his innocence, voluntarily relinquished his British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) licence after the Eubank Jr fight was called off, vowing to clear his name. "Following reports in the media and comments made by professional boxer Mr Conor Benn on Tuesday 18 April 2023, and in exceptional circumstances, UKAD confirms that Mr Benn was notified and provisionally suspended by UKAD on 15 March 2023 in accordance with the UK Anti-Doping Rules," a statement read. "UKAD can also confirm that on 3 April 2023 it charged Mr Benn with an Article 2.2 violation for the alleged Use of a Prohibited Substance (clomifene). The charge against Mr Benn is pending and will now follow the Results Management process in accordance with the UK Anti-Doping Rules."

LONDON, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Britain's Conor Benn will return to the WBC world rankings after the boxing body cleared him of intentional doping on Wednesday and said a "highly elevated consumption of eggs" was a reasonable explanation for failed tests last year. The WBC said in a statement that Benn's team had this month provided a detailed breakdown of his diet and consumption of supplements. It found no conclusive evidence that Benn, 26, intentionally ingested the banned substance Clomiphene and no procedural failures. "Benn’s documented and highly-elevated consumption of eggs during the times relevant to the sample collection, raised a reasonable explanation for the Adverse Finding," the WBC said. "The WBC Nutrition Committee will work with Mr. Benn’s team to design a nutrition program geared to avoid the risk of a future adverse finding caused by nutritional factors."
